ABOUT

The CEFF Network mission is simple: to make the film festival experience more accessible for connoisseurs and filmmakers of all kinds.

CEFF Network festivals are hosted in cities throughout the United States near and often in collaboration with neighboring colleges/universities; our goal is to bring the work of a growing collective of professional, independent, and student filmmakers with local student artists and film enthusiasts. Our submission fees go toward supporting a network of students and artists. The annual events hosted by our festival event network are predominately student founded, run, and operated. We believe in giving student filmmakers paid opportunities and experience in the film and event management industries!

What is now the Critical Edge Film & Art Festival Network started as an idea in 2014. A group of FSU undergraduate students founded what would later become Experimental Edge Film Festival, and have since dedicated their time to building a network for like student-operated festivals to collaborate and pool cinematic resources. The photo above includes the co-founders of the first Critical Edge Film Festival, Darrell Davis, David Sumner, Collin MacPherson, and Justin Verley, at the 621 Annex in Tallahassee. CEFF Network has now helped coordinate over 35 festivals and screening events in Milwaukee, Madison, Chicago, New Orleans, Tallahassee, Nashville, and Orlando.
